Yumchaa is an awarding-winning British company that curates the tastiest teas from around the world and produces signature blends with real fruit pieces, spices, edible flowers and other delicious ingredients. It sells its premium, artisan products online and from its café and shop in the heart of London’s Soho.
Yumchaa wanted us to help create new packaging for its range of loose-leaf teas, plus design and build a new website and online shop. However, following our first meeting, it was apparent that existing branding wasn’t strong enough to support the ambitions of the company, so it needed further development.
Yumchaa’s story is a fantastic one, so we wanted to tell it via the branding we created. We took key elements of Yumchaa’s existing identity to build friendlier, flexible branding more in tune with its key values and brought it to life with illustrations inspired by the journey the founders took in their search for great ingredients. We also incorporated key milestones from the company’s history.
The new Yumchaa branding was immediately successful across tea and food packaging, as well as its many consumer touch points, such as in the Soho café and shop – on signage, take-away cups and aprons.
The result was a brand that is full of personality and that stands strong alongside larger coffee shop brands and tea shops. More importantly, consumers can now truly connect with it, providing a perfect base on which to build in the future.
We brought Brandality on board to give the Yumchaa brand more direction. The whole process ran smoothly and was great fun. They really understood our brand and helped us understand our brand better as well. The final results are great and we look forward to working with Brandality in the future.
Quality new branding deserves a quality website. With customers around the world it was vital to ensure Yumchaa’s online presence was engaging and easy to use. We created an easy-to-navigate, ‘clean’ ecommerce site, usable on both mobile and desktop devices. At the same time, we constructed a fun ‘find your brew’ search feature, which allows users to find their perfect tea based on their mood or ailment.
